When using carbine hooks on netting and tarpaulins, they are typically attached to the corners or edges of the netting or tarpaulin and then used to secure the netting or tarpaulin to a nearby structure or pole. This allows the netting or tarpaulin to be easily removed and re-attached as needed.

In conjunction with steel cable, carbine hooks can be used to create a secure, tensioned line.
